Winning the first three games of this Series forced Roberts to ride his bullpen heavily, especially his two highest-leverage relievers, Michael Kopech and Blake Treinen. Because of that, the team had to find other ways to piece together the early outs in Tuesday’s game. And when trouble arose in the third inning, Roberts felt he had no choice but to ride it out.
“We started this year winning four games in a row; we know we’re very capable of winning four games in a row,” Rizzo said before Game 4. “So hopefully we can end this year winning four games in a row. That’s what we have to do to be champions. The Dodgers will not lay down by any means. But we win tonight, we get to play tomorrow.”
Luis Gil very well might get Rookie of the Year votes this season, but he is far above his previous career high in innings, and it has shown late in the season. He’s struggled the last few times out and the Dodgers got to him for four runs in four innings in Game 4. Gil struck out only one of the 18 batters he faced, or 6%. His regular-season strikeout rate was 27%, an excellent number.
The Dodgers went ahead early in Game 4 on yet another home run from Freddie Freeman, his record sixth straight game with a homer in the Fall Classic. It was how the Dodgers began their wins in Games 2 and 3, and then the Yankees didn’t help themselves with some misplays.

This was the third World Series start of Buehler’s career — all of them, oddly enough, in Game 3 — and in those starts he’s combined for 18 innings and only one run. His team has won all three, and this particular win put the Dodgers one away from a championship.
Now, the series comes down to Game 4 when the Yankees will have their backs against the wall with rookie starter Luis Gil on the mound. The Dodgers, in firm control of the series, will have a bullpen game, with an opportunity to sweep their way into history.
I love the plus money on this one. And I do think it’s possible Buehler makes it through the Yankees’ order one time without getting seriously marked up, but the second time through, the Bronx Bombers are gonna feast. I’ve got Buehler working four innings and allowing four runs, including a home run from Juan Soto. Yep, jump on that one, too, if you have a home run play in you.

In 1983, the founders of Broderbund Software, Gary and Doug Carlston, publicly discussed a plan to make edutainment one of their company’s three focus areas. The character of Carmen Sandiego was developed by David Siefkin, who drafted the first script of the game for Broderbund beside the Strawberry Canyon swimming pool of the University of California, Berkeley in 1984. Siefkin combined the character’s first and last names from the Brazilian singer and actress Carmen Miranda and the city of San Diego, California. Carmen Sandiego was just one of several villains in the original script. She was chosen for the title role by the early project manager Katherine Bird because her name suggested mystery and exoticism, as well as humor. Siefkin departed the project shortly after writing the first script to become a Foreign Service Officer for the U.S. State Department, and served as a press and cultural attaché in several of the countries featured in the game.
The first game in the series released in 1985, Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego?, was designed and written by Gene Portwood and Lauren Elliott, and programmed by Dane Bigham. It established an original formula that was followed very faithfully in all Carmen Sandiego games. This formula involves a series of missions in which the computer player tracks and apprehends each of Carmen Sandiego’s underlings. Each case begins with the player being alerted that a spectacular theft has been committed. Immediately transported to the scene of the crime, the player must find clues to infer the suspect’s next destination and to create an arrest warrant describing the guilty party’s attributes. The culprit travels through a series of different locations around the world in an attempt to shake off any pursuers, so the player will have to continue tracking the thief for some time. The game continues in this manner until the player catches up with the culprit, at which point the thief is arrested, and if the warrant is correct, the player puts the thief in ACME prison. As more and more thieves are arrested, the player rises up through ACME’s ranks, and the later cases assigned to the player will become more difficult. On the final case, the perpetrator is revealed to be Carmen Sandiego herself, and the game ends when the player successfully captures her and is later inducted into the ACME Hall of Fame.
