New world game

On July 20, 2021, the game was launched as a closed beta. The following day, it was reported that many high-end Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 graphics cards manufactured by EVGA were bricked while running the game. It was theorized that the absence of an FPS limit for menu screens in the game caused the GPUs to render more than 9000 frames per second at full load (while most gaming computers run at below 240 frames per second), while fail-safes in the cards failed to prevent damage. In response, Amazon said that it would implement an FPS limit in the menu screens, while maintaining that the game itself had not damaged the cards. Jason Langevin, a tech YouTuber (popularly known as JayzTwoCents) who first reported the issue, reported that other GPUs including the RTX 3080 Ti and various AMD GPUs were affected, and also reported that EVGA would replace all RTX 3090 GPUs bricked by the game at no cost. Langevin also investigated further by running an EVGA RTX 3090 and an MSi RTX 3090 and found that while the MSi GPU did not cross its rated power limit, the EVGA GPU went 20% above the limit.

Game 2 world series

He is a perfectionist. He had provided a pretty perfect call of a pretty perfect moment the night before. In six words, he had delivered a magical homage to the best broadcaster in baseball history and the most dramatic moment in Dodgers history.

Yankees starter Carlos Rodón’s homer problem reared its ugly head again at the worst time. In the second inning, Tommy Edman homered. (Juan Soto answered.) In the third, Rodón struck out Ohtani before running into two-out trouble: Mookie Betts singled, Teoscár Hernández and Freddie Freeman homered back-to-back, and Edman doubled. Rodón was yanked after 3 1/3 innings, having allowed six hits — half of them homers — and four runs.

1. Can this series possibly top that ending we just saw?“You’re 5 years old in the backyard right there,” Freddie Freeman said on the FOX broadcast, moments after he hit a walk-off grand slam to win Game 1 of the World Series and seconds before his teammates poured a bucket of Gatorade on his head. There were immediately many comparisons to Kirk Gibson’s home run off Dennis Eckersley to win Game 1 of the 1988 World Series for the Dodgers, but, honestly, Freeman’s homer stands on its own.

• The Dodgers and Yankees had a World Series preview June 7-9 at Yankee Stadium, with Los Angeles winning two of the three games. Teoscar Hernández had a go-ahead, two-run double in the 11th inning of the first game, a 2-1 Dodgers win, then hit two homers in an 11-3 rout the next night. The Yanks salvaged the finale with a 6-4 win, powered by Trent Grisham’s three-run homer off Tyler Glasnow.

Game out of this world

On April 14th, 2006 Out of this World has been re-released by it’s developer Eric Chahi (who got back the rights to the game) in a completely remastered edition for Windows XP which supports resolutions of up to 1280×800. You can purchase it online and read about the making of the game (both the original version and the remake) at www.anotherworld.fr

The SNES version features a theme song — the first time you hear it is in the very beginning of the game, when the black beast starts chasing you. There was also some tinkering with the background images of the last level (involving naked women viewed from the back) and all blood was removed.

This is a classic. Also worth mentioning is Prince of Persia and Flashback. I played it on the Amiga as Another World, and judging from the screenshots the Amiga version is clearly the way to go. By the way, DotEmu has made a very faithful port of this game to Android. It is available in Play Store, and highly recommended. Search for «Another World».

(Click on Another World from the side menu, then select Illustration from the top. There is a sketch with minimal detail at the bottom of the page that could represent the unmade cutscene. It seems to be Lester sitting at a throne, wearing a robe(?) and holding a sword.)

Another World, also known as Out of This World in North America and Outer World, is a 1991 cinematic platformer action-adventure game designed by Éric Chahi for Delphine Software. The game tells a story of Lester, a young scientist who, as a result of an experiment gone wrong, finds himself in a dangerous alien world where he is forced to fight for his survival.
